Bob McLeod was elected to the 16th Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories on October 1, 2007 and appointed as Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment.
Mr. McLeod holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta and an Honours Diploma in Administrative Management from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton.
As one of only two NWT civilians invited to participate in a program of national and international studies at the National Defense College in Kingston, Ontario, Mr. McLeod completed a thesis on Aboriginal Self-Government and the Possibilities for Constitutional Reform.
Prior to his political career, Mr. McLeod dedicated over 28 years of public service in various senior management roles with the Governments of the Northwest Territories and Canada.
Mr. McLeod has served on numerous boards and agencies at the territorial and national level. He served as a Director for the Canadian Tourism Commission and chaired the Canadian Diamond Strategy Working Group. He has also served as Vice President for the Fur Institute of Canada.
Initially from Fort Providence, Northwest Territories, Bob and his wife, Melody, now live in Yellowknife. They have one son, Warren and daughter-in-law, Shannon and two grandsons, Carter and Cooper.
