FILM FUNDING

The Department of Industry, Tourism, and Investment (ITI) has focused on finding better ways to promote diversification of our economy while continuing to promote and support development opportunities in all communities. The Support to Entrepreneurs and Economic Development (SEED) Policy intends to replace the existing Business Development Fund and Grants to Small Business Programs to focus more especially on the smaller communities.

In addition to this funding, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has dedicated $100,000 towards film industry funding for the 2011/12 fiscal year, available through the Support to Entrepreneurs and Economic Development (SEED) Policy.

Listen to an interview with the Associate Film Commissioner about new dedicated funding for the film industry.
