The Government of the Northwest Territories is committed to the sustainable economic development of the NWT and the advancement of a vibrant and healthy private sector. Read more.
To ensure economic opportunities and benefits can continue to be maximized for NWT businesses and communities and in response to an identified need to improve competition on major infrastructure projects in the Northwest Territories, the Government is proposing to update its Business Incentive Policy.
Three amendments are been proposed to address a lack of competition on major projects (over $5 million) in the NWT; concern from NWT community governments that the BIP is restricting their authority over government funding they receive for operations; and an identified need to strengthen support to NWT resident-owned small businesses.
