July 15 marks Parks Day across Canada – it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy nature!
Here are a few of the planned activities taking place in Northwest Territories Parks:
- Fred Henne Territorial Park
Main Beach, Gazebo

1:00 – 4:00pm
Variety of family-friendly activities including fish scale art, rock painting, sand art, scavenger hunt, storytelling and interactive games.
- Prelude Lake Territorial Park
Saturday, July 15
11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Take part in a fun-filled scavenger hunt, BBQ and prizes!
- Western Arctic Regional Visitor Centre - Inuvik
Saturday, July 15
Noon – 4:00pm
BBQ, games, plant walk and bannock on a stick
- Fort Simpson Territorial Park
Events hosted in collaboration with Parks Canada and the Fort Simpson Visitor Information Centre
Fort Simpson Kitchen Shelter

Free BBQ lunch, mini scavenger hunt, prizes and fun!
- Sambaa Deh Territorial Park
Saturday, July 15
Learn to make bannock on a stick, enjoy a free BBQ luncheon and learn to bead a small keys chain with the Famous Artist Lucy Simon.
