Engagement on new Manufacturing Strategy Makes Community Stops

Feedback from local manufacturers, industry, business, government and members of the public will play a crucial part in guiding the development of the NWT Manufacturing Strategy.

Insightful discussions about manufacturing in the Northwest Territories have taken place in-person in Inuvik, Norman Wells, Fort Simpson, Fort Smith, and most recently, Hay River. A final engagement session is scheduled for Yellowknife on November 16, 2017 and will take place in English and French.

    Manufacturing makes up a small but important sector of the NWT economy:

    • $35 million in revenue generated by manufacturing
    • 140 NWT residents employed in manufacturing (2015)
    • 4 jobs created per $1 million in manufacturing output
