As the summer season kicks off, visitors and residents alike are flocking to our beautiful beaches.

Beach Attendants are now on duty at Fred Henne Territorial Park to ensure people are safe at one of our most popular locations. They will be on-duty 7 days a week from 9:30am-8:30pm throughout the season.

Be Water Aware!

While Beach Attendants are there to help keep beaches safe, all beach users should be diligent in following safety rules and watching for hazards so your beach stay is memorable for all the RIGHT reasons.

Here are some tips to stay safe while enjoying the beach:

  • A lifejacket loaner station is available at Fred Henne. All beach users are invited to borrow lifejackets during their visit.
  • While it’s hard to resist the water on a hot summer day, remember, children 7 and under should always be within arm’s reach of a caregiver aged 16 years or older while in the water.
  • New swimmers should ALWAYS wear a life jacket whenever they’re near water
  • ALWAYS talk about swimming conditions before wading in — no matter your skill level.

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment wishes everyone a safe, fun-filled summer.
