Minister Wally Schumann tabled the 2016-17 Grants and Contributions Report at the Legislative Assembly on October 19, 2017. The report provides a summary of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment's (ITI) grants and contributions. Over the 2016-17 fiscal year TI provided $17.5 million in contributions to more than 1,400 individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, governments, and groups across the NWT.

The mandate of ITI is to promote economic self-sufficiency through the responsible development of Northwest Territories (NWT) natural resources and to create a prosperous, diverse and sustainable economy for the benefit of all NWT residents.
