On June 3, 2017 the Government of Canada officially launched consultations for modernizing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
This process will ready the federal government to represent the interests of all Canadians as they negotiate with the United States and Mexico. We want to ensure Northwest Territories residents have their chance to contribute.
These consultations complement an ongoing series of roundtables and meetings with various stakeholders led by the Government of Canada in recent months.
Northwest Territories residents, businesses, and interest groups can submit their feedback here.
While international trade negotiations are the responsibility of the federal government, the Government of the Northwest Territories plays a role in ensuring territorial interests are represented at the negotiating table.
