Growing season continues in the North Slave region with another exciting workshop designed to build Northern gardening capacity.
The second-installment of the Grow Together Garden Series will focus on garden maintenance North of 60.
ITI’s Lone Sorenson and YKCGC’s Sandra Mann will co-facilitate the class June 21 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at YKCGC community garden site #1.
The initiative is co-sponsored and facilitated by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) and the Yellowknife Community Garden Collective (YKCGC), with additional funding from the Government of Canada’s Growing Forward program.
The Department of ITI invests in capacity-building training and seeks innovative partnerships to provide grassroots assistance in small-scale food production and community development as set forth in the priorities of the 18th Legislative Assembly.
