The Mackenzie Valley Petroleum Planning Office
Increases in resource development activity, particularly in the Sahtu region, have led the GNWT to expand responsibilities for the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Office and give it a new name: the Mackenzie Valley Petroleum Planning Office (MVPPO).
Based in Hay River, the MVPPO's mandate includes strategic planning, government coordination, and communications support associated with petroleum resource development in the Mackenzie Valley - including the Mackenzie Gas Project, as well as future development projects.
The Mackenzie Valley Petroleum Planning Office also manages funding programs to help NWT residents, Aboriginal groups and communities meet the opportunities and challenges petroleum activity will provide in the territory.
