Chan Lake is a small park, located on the Frontier Trail, at the northern end of the Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary There is always a good chance that you will see at least one bison as you pass through the Sanctuary on the highway. You may also see sandhill cranes in the bush at the side of the road.

Nearest visitor information centre to the park is Northern Frontier Regional Visitors Centre in Yellowknife.

Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary is located within twenty minutes of Chan Lake Territorial Park..

Chan Lake Territorial Park is open from May 15th to September 15th. Services such as toilets and garbage removal are not provided outside the open season.
