Chan Lake Territorial Park

MacKenzie Bison Sanctuary
Roaming Bison in the Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary.

Chan Lake is a small park, located on the Frontier Trail, at the northern end of the Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary There is always a good chance that you will see at least one bison as you pass through the Sanctuary on the highway. You may also see sandhill cranes in the bush at the side of the road.
Nearest visitor information centre to the park is Northern Frontier Regional Visitors Centre in Yellowknife.
