McKinnon Territorial Park is located in the Town of Norman Wells, on the banks of the Mackenzie River. Norman Wells is the gateway to the Sahtu Region, its communities and the Mackenzie Mountains. Norman Wells is only accessible by road in winter, when an ice road is opened from Wrigley, the northernmost point on the Mackenzie Highway. During the summer, visitors access the community by scheduled flights, or via the Mackenzie River. |
