Powder Point is a quiet bay on Prelude Lake

Powder Point Day Use Area is located within Hidden Lake Territorial Park, on the Ingraham Trail. It is located a little more than 45 km east of Yellowknife, on the easternmost arm of Prelude Lake. The first short canoeing portage up some rapids towards both the Lower Cameron River, and the Hidden Lake routes, can be seen across the Lake if you look to your right from the parking lot.

Access Hidden Lake Territorial Park by water (or by ice, in winter) from Powder Point. An interpretive display at the water's edge describes some of the features of the park that make it unique.

Attractions & Points of Interest:

Visitor information centre to the park is Northern Frontier Regional Visitors Centre in Yellowknife.

Nearby attraction is Cameron Falls.

Canoe Launch Fishing - Prelude Lake Interpretive Displays Pets welcome on leash Toilets/Outhouses

Note - there is no ramp for launching powerboats at Powder Point; and power boats are not permitted on Hidden Lake.
