Prelude Lake Territorial Park is one of the many parks strung like beads along the Ingraham Trail. It is approximately 30 km from Yellowknife to the turnoff to the park on the Ingraham Trail, with another 2 km of approach road to reach the campsite loops, a boat launch and the beach. |

Prelude is the largest campground along the Ingraham Trail. There are now three loops of campsites, with extensive facilities that include fully equipped playgrounds. There is a small sandy beach much loved by kids in the summer; and a boat launch with docking facilities. |

A couple of trails within the park are well worth exploring whether or not you decide to camp here, and they are readily accessible as an easy morning, afternoon or evening excursion from Yellowknife. If you are feeling energetic, do them both! |
