Reid Lake Territorial Park

Reid Lake Territorial Park - Boat Launch
Reid Lake dock and boat launch.

Reid Lake Territorial Park is one of the many parks strung like beads along the Ingraham Trail. It is located approximately 60 km east of Yellowknife.

Reid Lake has a fine dock and boat launch, and makes an excellent base camp for both power boating and extended canoe trips into the surrounding lake systems.

The campground has various types of sites. If you are camping with a tent, consider trying the walk-in campsites. They provide a sturdy, level wooden platform, in comparison to the usual pull-in vehicle sites, that are surfaced with gravel chips. The platforms have tie downs for tent guy ropes, and are sited just a short walk in from a parking spot, firewood and water supply, and toilet. They are located up on the rocky area above the rest of the park, where the summer breezes blow the biting insects away at night.

The terrain around the park is typical of Precambrian Shield country - rugged rock outcrops and stunted coniferous trees, mainly spruce & jack pine, as well as birch, poplar, tamarack, willows and other low bushes.
