Yellowknife River Day Use Area is one of the many parks strung like beads along the Ingraham Trail. It is located approximately 9 km east of Yellowknife. Being so close to Yellowknife, this has always been a popular spot with local people for fishing, picnicking and boating. From here you can canoe or take your power boat either for miles up the river and into the string of lakes that it connects; or downstream into Back Bay and Yellowknife Bay on Great Slave Lake. Or, you can just enjoy a picnic at the park, and fish off the bridge or the rocks. |
