Tourism Marketing

The Department of Industry Tourism and Investment works in partnership with Northwest Territories Tourism (NWTT) to promote the Northwest Territories as a “spectacular” world-class tourist destination. NWTT was established in 1996 as the collective voice for the NWT tourism industry and the tourism-marketing agency for the NWT.  It is responsible for pan-territorial tourism marketing activities that include advertising, production of travel guides, maintaining the tourism toll free and fulfillment service, media and trade relations, trade show attendance, and providing tourism industry services and programs.

The Tourism Marketing Advisory Committee (TMAC) was established in 2006 as a consultative body for the Minister of Industry Tourism and Investment

The Committee represents the broad interests of the NWT’s private sector government and tourism industry. It’s role is to set priorities and strategies for the promotion and marketing of the NWT by facilitating industry input and leveraging knowledge, networks and financial partnerships.
