The Northwest Territories’ emerging secondary diamond industry, which includes cutting and polishing facilities and internationally-recognized training programs, is also receiving acclaim world-wide for its groundbreaking leadership, craftsmanship and high-quality polished diamonds.

The Government of the Northwest Territories recently updated the Diamond Policy Framework to support and encourage the growth of the secondary diamond industry in the Northwest Territories. Read policy

Thanks to the world’s first government-sponsored diamond certification program, Northwest Territories diamonds can be tracked from the mine to the retailer and are guaranteed to be mined, cut and polished in the Northwest Territories. Read more

The Government of the Northwest Territories has negotiated socio-economic agreements with each of the NWT’s Diamond Mines to formalize commitments made in the regulatory review process. Read more
