Premier McLeod and Minister Schumann attended the annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada tradeshow in Toronto this weekend - a key event for the mining industry; and one at which prospective developers and the financial sector gather to seek out new projects and partnerships, foster new relationships and build on existing ones.
For the Minister of Industry Tourism and Investment, it was an opportunity to ensure that the Northwest Territories (NWT) is front and center to responsible investors and explorers – with a busy schedule of one-on-one meetings, speaking engagements and media interviews.

It concluded in an informal networking session offering the opportunity for mining and exploration company representatives to speak one on one with NWT leaders.

Speaking on Monday, at the CanNor-sponsored Invest in Canada's North Seminar, the Minister encouraged the federal government to recognize the potential of the North in its vision for Canada – providing examples of Indigenous reconciliation, needed infrastructure investments and nation building corridor projects that would provide jobs, business and government revenues across Canada.
