NTGS, Braided Stream in the Mackenzie Mountains

Northwest Territories Geological Survey

The Northwest Territories Geological Survey (NTGS) is a Division of the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment, Government of the Northwest Territories.  Formerly known as the Northwest Territories Geoscience Office (NTGO), the NTGS changed its name on April 1, 2015 to reflect its role as a government-funded research organization.

In advancing geoscience knowledge of the Northwest Territories (NWT) by conducting geoscience research, and analyzing mineral and petroleum resources, the NTGS is essential to ITI's mandate of supporting and promoting economic development in the NWT. The excellent digital data provided gives the department the necessary information to ensure resource development projects are taken on responsibly.
