Northwest Territories (NWT) residents, tourists and adventurers will be met by new, improved, and modern bilingual signage on their next trips down the Ingraham Trail.

The development of new signs for all North Slave Region territorial parks and campgrounds began last summer as an effort to replace long-standing signs that were aging and in disrepair.

The new signs will be erected throughout the month of June.

Ongoing investments and maintenance by the Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) are enhancing the NWT’s spectacular system of parks and campgrounds in support of the 18th Legislative Assembly’s priority to lead economic diversification and environmental stewardship.

An anticipated $6 million will be invested in parks infrastructure this year.

Modernization efforts contribute directly to the GNWT’s mandate to improve parks infrastructure and signage to build high-quality public tourism facilities.
