Northwest Territories Tourism (NWTT) is holding its annual general meeting and conference in Hay River this week.
As the GNWT’s destination marketing organization, NWTT delivers tourism marketing on behalf of the GNWT under the ‘Spectacular’ Brand. It also serves as a representative organization for tourism businesses, operators and services providers in the NWT.
Especially this year, the annual meeting and conference is a welcome opportunity for the NWT’s tourism industry to gather for business, professional development, networking and a chance to celebrate excellence in the NWT tourism sector.
The Department of ITI is pleased to be a sponsor of this year’s event hosting the ITI Idea Café as a gathering spot for conversations and ideas about tourism programming and initiatives; and a place for individuals to recharge their batteries – figuratively and literally.
Guest speakers to the conference will include: acclaimed explorer, writer and photographer, Bruce Kirby; Executive Director, Industry Partnerships Destination Canada Sebastien Dubois; and Vice President Operations, Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada Sebastien Desnoyers-Picard.
On Thursday ITI will sponsor professional development opportunities led by Doug Griffith, community enthusiast and bestselling author of 13 Ways to Kill your Community.
Minister of ITI, Caroline Wawzonek will address the NWTT conference virtually on Wednesday morning.
