This year, the Department provided hospitality training, a pricing your art workshop and cruise ship readiness workshops.
ITI also invested in event infrastructure in Ulukhaktok and Tuktoyaktuk, such as tents, bleachers, tables, chairs, stages, a speaker system and signage.

The successful results of preparations and investments in 2016 have contributed to continued visits from cruise ship to our coastal communities this fall - creating economic opportunity for local artisans and crafters to sell directly to customers from around the world.
Cruise ship visits provide a significant opportunity to advance economic development and diversification in our coastal communities and provide an opportunity to profile our territory’s Aboriginal tourism product to the world.
The Department of ITI is supporting the ICEDO’s work to develop a cruise ship strategy for the Inuvialuit Settlement Region.
