Come out and enjoy our spectacular territorial parks this Saturday in celebration of Parks Day. In celebration of this year’s Parks Day we have activities taking place in various NWT Parks:
In the Dehcho:
Blackstone Territorial Park will be hosting tons of family-friendly activities including a scavenger hunt, interpretive walks, prizes and food.
The kitchen shelter at the Fort Simpson Territorial Park will be hosting a BBQ with the chance to win prizes.
Sambaa Deh Territorial Park will play host to a flurry of activities including trivia games, moosehair tufting, a cookout and prizes.

In the South Slave:
The 60th Parallel Visitor Information Centre, will be presenting local fiddler Linda Duford’s and a lunch from 12:00 until 1:00pm.
Lady Evelyn Falls offers another perfect place to celebrate Parks Day with fish and chips on the menu throughout the day!
Meanwhile, the Hay River Campground will welcome all visitors with hotdogs from 12:00 until 1:00pm.
In the North Slave:
Fred Henne Territorial Park is planning a fun-filled day at the beach. Learn how to make fish scale art, rock and sand art, listen to stories and play interactive games. Activities run from 1:00 until 4:00pm.
In the Beaufort Delta:
The Western Arctic Visitor Centre will be flush with activities and food! Traditional fish cutting demonstrations along with traditional foods, a local pharmacy scavenger hunt, a dog sledding demonstration and more! The event will run from 12:00 until 4:00pm.
With so many amazing parks we had to split things up a bit!
Prelude Lake Campground celebrated Parks Day on July 14th with fun filled activities for all.
Mackinnon Territorial Park in the Sahtu celebrated Parks day on July 14th as well. The park was filled with live music, an arts & crafts sale and fresh fish from Great Bear Lake.
Finally Reid Lake will be celebrating Parks Day in August.
