The Government of the Northwest Territories today released its Contracts Over $5000 annual report for the 2015-2016 fiscal year in an open data format. 

This makes analyzing government financial expenditures easier with a searchable, sortable document. 

Additionally, unlike PDF files, open data formats work with screen-readers, improving accessibility for those suffering from visual impairments. 

This comes as part of the GNWT's commitment to maximizing citizens’ ability to access government as outlined in its mandate, and advancing the principles of open data as per priorities handed down to the 18th Legislative Assembly.
