Hay River will come alive with the sound of music over the long weekend as one of the North’s largest arts festivals takes over the town.
The Biggest Fiddling & Jigging Championships North of 60 running September 2-4 will feature a $800 top prize, vendors, and a fish fry to mark the occasion.
The annual championship draws attendees from across the Northwest Territories and surrounding provinces and territories for a weekend of festivities.
The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment provides sponsorship funding to the event as part of its mandate to support community-level tourism development.
The celebrations, vendors, and fish fry will take place at the Soaring Eagle Friendship Centre and Hay River Metis Government Council office.
