The GNWT’s department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is helping to facilitate and to host several events across the Territory during this Small Business Week from October 17 to 21, 2022

In collaboration with various Chambers of Commerce, people in all regions can attend meetings, workshops, and open houses to access information on government programs and networking opportunities.

 

South Slave Region

GNWT’s department of ITI is hosting a series of Small-business oriented luncheon or Afternoon teas in Fort Resolution, Enterprise, For Providence and at the Katl’odeeche and Ka’a’gee Tu First Nations.

There will be presentations aimed at small business owners and new entrepreneurs, as well as brochures, and various application forms.

Hay River and Fort Smith will be hosting open houses at their respective regional offices.

Beaufort-Delta

Small businesses will be highlighted during the return of the Business Trade Show in Inuvik’s Midnight Sun Complex from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The GNWT joins other business and government entities to provide this important information and networking event.

Dehcho Region

In the Dehcho, you’ll be able to attend a Business week Trade show as well as the Fort Simpson Chamber of Commerce AGM. 

North Slave

The Department of ITI’s North Slave Regional Office is assisting the Yellowknife Chamber in hosting the Small Business Week Conference on October 18-19, 2022, including programming and speakers.  ITI is also the sponsor of the Innovation Award to recognize a business that has pushed conventional boundaries and reshaping their industry through innovation achievements.

• Collaborating with the City of Yellowknife to make an announcement during Small Business Week about the launch of 'Entrepreneurship Week' activities on November 14-20, 2022.

• Distributing Support to Entrepreneur and Economic Development (SEED) program information pamphlets to all NSR communities.
