The Department of ITI South Slave regional office has committed to installing professional displays in each of its communities to showcase and market the talents and products of local and regional artists. Staff recently worked with the Hay River Airport Authority to build a display for the terminal building that maximizes and compliments the nature of the space.
Approved Manufacturer, Sunrise Cabinets and Millwork from Enterprise, designed and built the custom cabinets which wrap around the existing support pillars of the Merlyn Carter Airport.
The secure cases use energy-efficient LED lights to exhibit the works of Registered NWT Artists from Hay River and the Hay River Reserve. Each piece has a bilingual tag with the artists’ name, location and the title of their work to allow potential customers to find and connect with the artist through the NWT Arts website for future sales.Interested in the NWT Arts Program? For visitors interested in learning more about NWT art and where to buy it, the NWT Arts displays include take-away products to take with them on their travels.
Industry, Tourism and Investment is proud to make investments in showcasing the work of NWT artisans and to support the increase of sales at a regional level through artist-to-market opportunity chains.
