After nearly 30 days of darkness the sun has risen once again on the Beaufort Delta – and the Town of Inuvik celebrated the returning warmth of the sun with its annual Sunrise Festival. The festival featured Inuvik Drummers and Dancers, snow carving competition, the famed Ice Village, lots of feasting and more.

In addition to being a time of celebration and gathering, community events and festivals, like the Inuvik Sunrise Festival are good for local businesses.

Photographer Weronika Murray captured this year’s two-day event and all the smiles that came along with it.

The Inuvik Sunrise Festival continues to grow annually, both in size and attendance. This is in part because of the dedication of the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors.
