Mining is part of our heritage, and our future.

That’s why every year, the Government of the Northwest Territories celebrates Mining Week with a series of events designed to engage, educate, and entertain in partnership with the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines.

Events will celebrate the unique history of mining in the NWT, the geology that made it possible, and the people who drive today’s NWT mining industry.

Mining Mondays

A week always feels too short to celebrate an industry that is so fundamental to the NWT.

That’s why, for the first time, this year’s mining week will kick off a month of feature stories on different aspects of mining. Watch for these special features on the ITI website every Monday in June. We’ll also share shorter stories and information regularly throughout the month.

Follow us on social media to keep up-to-date on all the stories and information we’ll be sharing throughout June.
