On Friday, the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce Business Awards celebrated the best and brightest in Yellowknife's entrepreneurship scene.
This year’s awards recognize leaders in financial achievement, customer service excellence, community involvement, safety culture and innovation.
The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is proud to support small business across the NWT and to play a part in the Yellowknife Chamber’s annual awards ceremony recognizing their success and the important role they play in the diversification and growth of the NWT economy.

The Breakout New Business award sponsored annually by the Business Development and Investment Corporation of the NWT (BDIC) was awarded, this year, to Barren Ground Coffee.
Industry, Tourism and Investment's Assistant Deputy Minister for Economic Development was on hand to congratulate Barren Ground Coffee on their win.
Friday’s event also featured a new ITI-sponsored award recognizing Innovation in Business; and presented in its inaugural year to Guy Architects.

- Trailblazers Women In Business: Angela Gzowski Photography
In all, the Yellowknife Chamber received 135 nominations for 10 awards this year. Vice President Alayna Ward says it is “…a testament to the excellence demonstrated within the Yellowknife business community.”
Guy Architects took home the Innovation award.
The CIBC was named Chamber Member of The Year.
