The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is proud to recognize Abraham Snowshoe from Fort McPherson as this season’s NWT Parks Hospitality Award winner!
Abraham has just completed his fourth season operating Nataiinlaii Park; one of the Territories northern most parks. It offers a rustic, comfortable, off-grid camping experience to Dempster Highway travellers, who visit from all over the globe.
ITI’s growing network of Northwest Territories parks and campgrounds is a continued source of pride. They are an important part of the NWT’s Spectacular tourism product and home to some of the NWT’s most awe-inspiring natural attractions; raging rivers, pristine lakes, geological formations and majestic waterfalls.
These facilities, however, are only as good as the operators that run them, and the annual NWT Parks Hospitality Award recognizes outstanding hospitality and service by a park operator who made an lasting impression on guests to the Park.
According to comments submitted by visitors after their stay at Nataiinlaii, both the campground and Abraham himself did just that!
“The campground is a nice place to set up your tent, clean facilities - and a wonderful host.”
“We loved it there, we stopped on our way north and again heading back south! Cleanest bathroom/showers anywhere!”
“We were very impressed with the nice, maintained campground and facilities. He does an excellent job.
NWT Parks notes that Abraham is in good company and salutes all of the individuals that served as parks operators in 2022.
Thank you, Abraham, for your hospitality and hardwork! We look forward to seeing you (again) in 2023 at Nataiinlaii Park.
