A little bit of the NWT has taken up residence at Sungiven Foods flagship location in Burnaby, BC from now until February 15, 2023.
NWT Tourism, in partnership with the NWT Arts Program, has launched its Winter Aurora co-promotion with the upmarket grocer Sungiven Foods, which has nine locations in Metro Vancouver and 200 stores in China.
Sungiven brands itself as a sustainability-minded “Asian Whole Foods” that fuses the best of Eastern and Western cultures. Its client base is well aligned with the target market of potential travellers to the NWT post COVID.
The in-store display at Sungiven’s Burnaby location features three pieces of NWT artwork on loan from the NWT Arts Program - mittens by Shirley Bernarde in Tulita, a birchbark basket by Alma Jumbo in Fort Liard, and a piece of Aurora stained-glass by Rosalind Mercredi in Yellowknife.
Visitors to the display will be able to scan a QR link to NWT Arts Sungiven Foods where they can learn more about these three pieces of work and cultural art in the NWT. Sungiven Foods sees 180,000 customers/month through their nine Metro Vancouver locations.
This promotion will offer customers a chance to win a dream trip to NWT including a “hot pot under the Aurora” and will run between December 1, 2022 – February 15, 2023 with online and offline engagements, including a special targeting of Sungiven’s high-spending VIP. There will also be cross-promotion with influencers and affiliate media to 500k+ Chinese in Canada.
Sungiven customers who purchase a gift card valued at $100 will be entered into the draw for their chance to win one of these exclusive 4-days 3-nights Yellowknife Aurora Trips:
- 2-Person Couple’s Yellowknife Aurora Tour (draw on Jan. 19)
- 4-Person Family’s Yellowknife Aurora Tour (draw on Feb. 16)
Sungiven Foods has launched a page on its website with contest information, which they have shared on their social media platforms. Watch for shares of these posts on NWTT and NWT Arts facebook pages as well.
