Congratulations to One-of-Our-Own, Hendrik Falck, on receiving the Canadian Professional Geoscientist Award from Geoscientists Canada.

The award recognizes the achievements of an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the development and practice of professional geoscience and who has advanced the public recognition of their profession in Canada.

With over thirty years of experience mapping Archean volcanic belts and granitic terranes for mining exploration and government research programs, Hendrik has a proven service record that has benefited geoscience in Canada and particularly in the North. Much of his work has been in the role of Mineral Deposits Geologist with the Northwest Territories Geological Survey.

Mr. Falck was also recognized for his advocacy of geoscience in various roles including the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG), his service on the Canadian Geoscience Standards Board, and as Director and subsequently President of Geoscientists Canada.

His resume includes a stint as President and council member for the Mineral Deposits Division of the Geological Association of Canada and Editor of the CIM Journal.  As a mentor, Hendrik is generous with his time for young geoscientist professionals entering their careers.

Hendrik has recently taken on the role of the Manager of Resource and Royalty policy with ITI where he will be providing policy advice and supporting the review of the NWT royalty regulations.
