Regional Economic Development Planning In-person Engagement – Inuvik and Norman Wells

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) is working to put Regional Economic Development Plans (REDPs) in place to encourage and guide economic growth in in varying sectors across the Northwest Territories.

In-person engagements are taking place this week for the Beaufort Delta and the Sahtu regions.

 

Regional Economic Development Plans

 

A public engagement session will be held on Monday, January 16 at 5pm at the Mackenzie Hotel in Inuvik to identify and define economic opportunities and challenges that exist in the Beaufort-Delta region.

A similar public session will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 6pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Norman Wells to discuss opportunities in the Sahtu.

 

This project is being advanced by the Department of ITI to advance the GNWT’s commitment to increase economic diversification by supporting growth in non-extractive sectors across the NWT.
