Eight participants from the Sahtu business community honed their proposal writing skills this week during a workshop in Norman Wells. The free event, held February 7-9, included tips, tactics and best practices for writing convincing and successful funding proposals.

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment’s (ITI) Sahtu Regional Office organized the workshop, which was instructed by the NWT Literacy Council.

In addition to proposal writing skills, participants also learned about strategic planning, funding options and project management.

Empowering residents with the confidence, skills and resources to take business risks and prosper is foundational to ITI’s wok to foster local business development to promote a strong territorial economy. Numerous information and training sessions are hosted regularly in all NWT regions.
