Across Canada, Small Business Week was celebrated October 17-23 – except in Fort Simpson.

 

Due to a COVID outbreak in the NWT, the annual event recognizing small and medium-sized businesses and the value they bring to our communities, was postponed.  

 

Instead, the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI)’s Dehcho regional office will be hosting a pop-up event at the Fort Simpson Recreation center community hall Thursday (November 18, 2021) from 3 PM to 7 PM.

 

Individuals who are interested in starting a small business, and those who are currently in business and leadership positions for community governments are invited to attend. This will be a great opportunity to discuss different funding programs and meet the representatives from the following departments:

 

·         Canadian Northern Economic Development agency(CANNOR)

·         Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI)

·         Education, Culture and Employment (ECE)

·         Dehcho Business Development Centre
