From May 29 - June 4 Fort Simpson held a host of fun community events aimed at priming the Dehcho for a renewed influx of tourists.
A key result of this year’s Tourism Week was to determine who needs help, and what we can do to assist each other so the Dehcho is ready to open to visitors together.
Discussions were aimed at understanding the current situation and future prospects for tourism operators in terms of restarting and welcoming visitors. This networking event helped to foster and create industry-specific partnerships.
But there’s nothing saying that networking can’t be fun:
Tourism Week Golf Tournament - Tee off the tourism season with the first tournament of the year at the Seven Spruce Golf Course in Fort Simpson!
Dehcho Talks Tourism Workshop - Tourism operators and tourism-related businesses at the Fort Simpson Kitchen Shelter.
Tourism Tradeshow - The greenspace in front of the Rec Center in Fort Simpson showcased what is happening for tourism in the Dehcho this summer! Perfect for welcoming friends and family back to the #spectacularnwt

VIC BBQ - The Visitor’s Information Centre (VIC) hosted a BBQ with loaded burgers and even more loaded baked potatoes!
Bannock & Jam - The Fort Simpson Kitchen Shelter hosted the Bannock & Jam event featuring Bannock and live music!
