If you’re out at Fred Henne this weekend, give those barbecue tongs and camp chairs a break and enjoy some lunch and traditional games with us.

The GNWT has partnered with the Aboriginal Sports Circle to offer a series of traditional games days in NWT Parks this summer.

The first edition runs tomorrow at Fred Henne’s Cultural Grounds, with a free barbecue lunch, cultural activities, and traditional games.

It’s the latest example of how partnerships are bringing the NWT Parks experience to the next level – offering unforgettable experiences for visitors, celebrating local culture, and encouraging locals to get out and enjoy the territory’s world-class parks.

Similar afternoons will be held at other parks across the North Slave:

  • August 3 – Prelude Lake Territorial Park
  • August 31 – Reid Lake Territorial Park

Investing in parks events and programming is part of the GNWT’s Tourism 2020 strategy – the territory’s approach to growing the tourism sector from the local to global level.
