Articles include updates on initiatives like the annual tree planting activities, a list of hiking trails worth lacing up your boots for and Pinterest-worthy campfire recipes. The paper also explains why certain rules are in place, such as the allowable size of campfires and why ATVs should be kept on designated roadways.
It’s all part of an effort by ITI’s North Slave Office to ensure safe, fun and memorable experiences for park users – and to keep our parks clean and spectacular for future generations.
NWT Parks welcomed a record-breaking number of overnight visitors last year – over 35,000. More than 17,000 of these visitors stayed in parks in the North Slave Region. As visitor numbers increase, it is more important than ever to ensure everyone is aware of and follows rules to keep NWT campgrounds safe and beautiful.
The bilingual (English/French) papers are available at gatehouses at Fred Henne, Prelude Lake and Reid Lake Territorial Parks, as well as online. Pick up a copy during your next camping adventure!
