Time is running out to apply for 20k to bring your short film idea to life.
The Harold Greenburg Fund’s Territories Shorts Program was established by Bell Media in partnership with the NWT Film Commission, Yukon Media Development, and the Nunavut Film Development Corporation to give filmmakers in each territory a chance to realize their visions for impactful short films.
In the NWT, the Department of ITI (through the NWT Film Commission) and Bell Media are each contributing $10,000 to support the creation of a standalone NWT production.
“One of the biggest challenges faced by northern film makers is finding the capital to bring a project or dream to life says Northwest Territories’ Film Commissioner Camilla MacEachern. This is the kind of funding partnership that will make a real difference for NWT filmmakers. I can’t wait to see the project that will result.”
Projects eligible for funding will be:
- Short films with scripts 10 pages or under
- Written, produced, or directed by Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- Written, produced, or directed by residents of either of the three territories
Applications are due by November 6, 2019 so if you haven’t already, check out the rules and get in on the action here!
The NWT Film Commission works to build partnerships like those with the Harold Greenburg Fund to bring new opportunities to creators across the Northwest Territories. To learn more about how the Film Commission can help, click here.
