Everybody wins when NWT residents support tourism, but Yellowknifers have an extra chance to win great local prizes from April 19 to May 23 by being tourists in their own town.
Look for the Be a Tourist in Your Own Town coupon book at one of the over 30 participating stores and businesses in Yellowknife. Purchase the product or service identified on a coupon and enter the corresponding ballot into the draw box at the business where you made your purchase.
The more places you visit, the more chances you have to win!

ITI’s North Slave Regional office is proud to be a partner of this initiative to support tourism operators in the NWT alongside the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, City of Yellowknife and Northwest Territories Tourism.
“It’s an especially important time to shop local and support local businesses,” said Deneen Everett, Executive Director of the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce.
“Participating in this campaign is as easy as ordering take-out, booking a staycation, or shopping at a variety of local businesses.”
The draw date is May 28th and will be streamed live on the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
Here are the prizes:
- The first prize is a two-night trip for 2 people at Blachford Lake Lodge
- Second Prize is a 4-hour Pike Fishing trip for 4 people with Yellowknife Outdoor Adventures. All fishing gear and tackle will be provided. (You will need to buy a fishing license.)
- Third Prize is the “eat & relax” prize package. It includes a $200 gift certificate for Etandah Organic Day Spa, a $200 gift certificate from Bullocks Bistro (and a bottle of their famous salad dressing), and two Northern books from the Yellowknife Book Cellar.
- Fourth prize is a prize package donated by Northwest Territories Tourism.
