Northwest Territories (NWT) leadership presented a united front for potential investors and exploration companies at AME Roundup again this year.
Throughout a busy week-long schedule, ‘Coffee with NWT Leaders’ continues to be a staple in the territory’s presence at the preeminent exploration and mining event – and one that demonstrates that business is done collaboratively and through partnership in the NWT.

Traditional drummers captured the attention of conference delegates with a powerful performance to commence the gathering. Many delegates stopped, to take in the drumming and met face-to-face with leadership afterwards to discuss opportunities in the NWT.
On the heels of the recent $500,000 funding announcement by the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency to promote mineral potential in Canada’s three territories, the renewed energy and interest in the NWT at the event was noticeable.
Leadership at the event includes Premier Cochrane, Minister Nokleby, Minister Thompson, Duane Ningaqsiq Smith, Chair and CEO, Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, Bobbie Jo Greenland-Morgan, Grand Chief/President, Gwich’in Tribal Council, and George Mackenzie, Grand Chief of the Tłı̨chǫ Government.
The 19th Legislative Assembly identified increasing resource exploration and development as a priority and active participation at key events such as AME Roundup and key to attracting new investment and exploration.
