With local wares including produce, baked goods, and arts and crafts selling to locals and tourists alike farmers markets continue to be successful across the NWT.
Interested in attending a market near you? Below is a listing of some of the markets that take place across the territory throughout the summer. Most recurring markets end on September 15th.
South Slave:
Hay River – Fisherman’s Warf
The Fisherman’s Warf runs every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Find fresh fish, local produce, crafts, and an amazing lunch while enjoy the bustling sights and sounds of Hay River.
Fort Smith – Desnedé Farmers Market
Head to the Fort Smith Centennial Arena Park each Saturday from July – October from 11am to 1pm to stock up on fresh, locally made, grow, harvested or baked products.
North Slave:
Yellowknife – Yellowknife Farmers Market
This market is every Tuesday from 5:15pm to 7:15pm rain or shine at the Somba K’e Civic Plaza in front of City Hall. Enjoy live music while checking out homemade jams, crafts, local produce, baking, and fish at the vendor stands.
Beaufort Delta:
Inuvik – Arctic Market
Find the market at the Jim Koe Park on Saturdays from 11am to 2pm. The market promotes local growers, artisans, crafters, bakers, chefs and much more. Come and find local products from the source!

Tulita - With a focus on value added produce this market, held on September 29th and 30th is the place to be. Learn how to can and dehydrate food to make your harvest last through the winter months.
Fort Good Hope – In September (date to be announced) make sure you show up hungry! Vendors here specialize in traditionally cooked food.
Norman Wells – Saturday August 25th marks the 3rd Annual Farmers Market and Craft Sale. With close to 30 vendors including baked goods, food sales, local products, artists and contests this market won’t disappoint. In its first year it sold out in only 2 hours! The market opens at 1pm and is scheduled to run until 5pm.
Dehcho
Fort Simpson – Recreation Centre
Stop by this community-led farmers market, hosted at the Rec Centre every other Saturday from 1 – 3pm. The market on Saturday, August 25 includes a dip-off contest so be sure to indulge your taste buds!
