As ITI prepares to participate in AME Remote Roundup 2021, five projects in the Northwest Territories are entering new and exciting phases.
We’re marking 5-days of Round-Up 2021 by talking to five companies currently exploring and developing NWT projects with huge potential.
Round-Up 2021 – Day 1
On the edge of Yellowknife, Gold Terra believes the year will mark a turning point. “The most exciting possible time for the company,” President and Chief Executive Officer David Suda calls it.
Gold Terra is developing the Yellowknife City Gold Project, some 800 square kilometres of land in a region explored since the early 1900s.
This year, the company is focused on the Campbell Shear – home to much of the gold produced in the area historically, such as by the city’s former Con and Giant mines. Suda believes there is much more to come.
Con and Giant, he says, mined “only a very small portion of strike on the main shear zone.” The rest remains underexplored.
“We are very, very excited to have the chance to resume the exploration in that area,” says Suda.
There is more drilling ahead at a range of targets as Gold Terra looks to build on its 735,000-ounce inferred resource.
"We have the potential for a massive discovery,” says Suda. “We've now put ourselves at the front end of a gold bull market with a funded program of 12,000 metres on what we feel is the most exciting target.”

Renewed exploration activity is needed to restore levels of investment, partnership, employment and growth in the NWT’s economy.
