On the eve of a return to in-person conference engagements, The GNWT’s Department Industry, Tourism and Investment hosted an open house Tuesday in Calgary as a precursor to the Arctic Energy and Resource Symposium.
Attendees included representatives, from business and industry, academics and industry and business organizations from across the North and Alberta.
The Northern Resource Open House was co-sponsored by the governments of the Yukon and Nunavut as well as the NWT Chamber of Commerce.
Tuesday’s open house event included a door prize. Trevor Wilde (right), Director Business Development and Marketing for Charters, Canadian North, presenting two system-wide round-trip tickets to Chad Grummett of Imperial Oil.
As the world’s post-pandemic investment climate is restored, renewed exploration activity is needed to restore levels of investment, partnership, employment and growth in the NWT’s economy.
Conferences such as the Arctic Energy and Resource Symposium and associated investor-focussed events and trade shows provide a venue for the GNWT to stimulate awareness and interest in the NWT’s rich resource potential.
Mandate: Increase resource exploration and development
ITI Minister, Caroline Wawzonek will deliver a keynote to the Symposium on Thursday.
