NWT students receive scholarships from Mine Training Society and Diamonds Do Good

Five NWT students will receive $5,000 each to further their training and careers through the Diamonds Do Good scholarship program.

Diamonds Do Good scholarships are part of a partnership between the Mine Training Society and the non-profit Diamond Empowerment Fund facilitated by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment in 2019.  They are awarded annually by the Mine Training Society whose mandate is focused on building a strong, engaged and local workforce in the NWT’s mining industry.

25k Fund Now Available For Youth to Advance Their Careers

The $25,000 scholarship fund was first announced to support youth aged 18-30 in the NWT and Kitikmeot region of Nunavut to advance their careers in mining.  Since then, the criteria has been expanded to include youth who plan to pursue trades training or post-secondary education in business, management, science and technology, engineering, mathematics, and healthcare.
