Minister Wally Schumann delivered the 2016-2017 Annual Report of the Office of the Regulator of Oil and Gas Operations’ (OROGO) to the NWT Legislative Assembly.

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is responsible for the Oil and Gas Operations Act and Petroleum Resources Act. OROGO, however, exists independently under the umbrella of the Department of Justice.

The report outlines the organization’s work to safely and responsibly monitor and regulate oil and gas activities in the Northwest Territories. OROGO supports the NWT Regulator of oil and gas activities by administrating applications, site inspections, incident response, information dissemination, and outreach related to the Regulator’s responsibilities under the Oil and Gas Operations and Petroleum Resources Acts.
