Thebacha Business Development Services (TBDS) in Fort Smith recently launched their new workspace and mentorship initiative.

The program is aimed at business startups in the community. They’re providing a launch space for entrepreneurs to work and receive feedback on their business ideas and guidance from business professionals as they navigate the start-up process.

General Manager Linda Martin explains: “We’re also providing residents with access to a quiet, professional space with brand new computers and the most up-to-date Microsoft and Adobe software. They have access to printers, scanners and training on how to use the software and hardware we offer.”

This free program is open to everyone and all business ideas. For more information, you can reach TBDS at 872-2795 or stop by on weekdays to use the space from 8:30am – 5pm, no appointment necessary. Fridays  from 830am – Noon, business owners in the area are also invited to enjoy a “business break” with  coffee, a light snack and opportunities to chat with TBDS professionals and Town of Fort Smith’s Economic Development Officer.

By sponsoring the Thebacha Launch Space, the GNWT is advancing the objectives of the Economic Opportunities Strategy which highlights the importance of strengthening the operating environment for regional businesses and entrepreneurs - especially in the NWT’s small market communities.

Thebacha Business Development Services is a Community Futures organization to which the GNWT contributes funding annually to deliver community economic development in the Fort Smith area.
