May 15, 2020
As we enter into the Victoria Day (May) long weekend, the Department of Industry Tourism and Investment would like to remind all residents that for your health and safety during this time, our territorial campgrounds remain closed to overnight camping.
We know that you are anxious to get out and enjoy the outdoors; and we recognize that it’s important to have access to places where you can get fresh air, exercise and practice physical distancing.
If you choose to use of one of our many day use areas, please do so with respect for each other, the new COVID guidelines and our regular parks rules.
Parks services will be limited. We recommend you bring your own water, hand sanitizer and a clean table cloth to put on the picnic table. Don’t share food and beverages; do your part to keep our facilities clean and please take all your garbage with you when you leave.
COVID 19 has reminded us that safety is a shared responsibility. And while our parks officers will be patrolling, we are asking for your continued cooperation in keeping your gatherings under 25 people and respecting and using our parks facilities only as permitted.
Have a safe weekend.
